The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), that went into effect on January 1, 2020, is a major advancement in the privacy rights of consumers as well as a significant new regulation in a global privacy trend.
The CCPA may be even more far-reaching than other privacy regulations like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), although both laws have strongly overlapping requirements and are both blueprints for emerging regulations.
